June Postcards

These are the postcards for the June birthday girls, and one for Fabienne, I am very late making Fabienne's card.
The one below I made from a small sample of Trapunto, not a good idea, the wool in the channels was pushing the foot of my machine all over the place, making a wibbly wobbly edge.

Liz Berg Postcard

Remember the Earth Day Auction, well I was lucky enough to win the bid on the Liz Berg postcard. I was out all day on the last day of the auction, and could not wait to get home and see if I had been successful, and Yay I was.
I am so thrilled to own this small piece of Liz's work and if you haven't seen her work before, go and check out her website, one day who knows, when I have a visit from the lottery fairy, I may be able to own full size piece of this fantastic artist's work

Postcards

I have had some more birthday postcards from my Fiberartfriends,

Also, I was the lucky winner of a gift token from Joggles,kindly donated by Sue B, everyone who donated something for the Earthday Auction, was put into a draw ,and I won, yeah
I ordered from Joggles on the 5th April, and they arrived here in the UK today the 11th April, how is that for service, Brilliant I say :) Joggles also provided packs of Misty Fuse to the draw.

Lace Fiasco

I thought I would give you an update on the Lace that I glued to Pelmet Vilene,
It dried ROCK HARD, I mean really hard, I tried to machine sew through it, and the noise was terrible. so then I thought never mind it will make a good rubbing plate, but no that did not work either. so one for the no hope file.
Too much glue to try and hold it to the PV was the problem.
I thought I would show you what I was trying to achieve, this is a piece I made a few years ago, I sewed the lace to the Pelmet Vilene first, then painted it,much easier to sew through. LOL
this piece was chopped up for post cards and little buttons sewn on,no pictures of the finished postcards.

Postcards

Well, another old sample turned into postcards, have enough for another two from this piece I think,
This one was machine stitched onto silk, then painted using silk paints.The fabric was put onto a wadding before stitching, this creates the texture.
I can't tell you how great it feels working through my stash of samples at long last,
and postcards are just a perfect way of using them.
