It dried ROCK HARD, I mean really hard, I tried to machine sew through it, and the noise was terrible. so then I thought never mind it will make a good rubbing plate, but no that did not work either. so one for the no hope file.
Too much glue to try and hold it to the PV was the problem.
I thought I would show you what I was trying to achieve, this is a piece I made a few years ago, I sewed the lace to the Pelmet Vilene first, then painted it,much easier to sew through. LOL
this piece was chopped up for post cards and little buttons sewn on,no pictures of the finished postcards.

oh man, I hate when that happens !!! but I wouldn't discard it just yet...I have found uses I never dreamed of with failed experiments sometimes more than a year later...and it's usually just what the new project needed...
well that's a bummer! maybe it would make a nice paperweight?!
I can see why you were aiming to replicate the other piece you made - its gorgeous. Some things just never date do they?
Maybe you could paint it and frame it. There's gotta be something that can be done to save it.
Don't chuck it out, its too nice. Slice it up and couch it!
I've had trouble with glue and pelmet vilene too and I tried to use Spray Mount repositional adhesive to hold a postcard onto PV, but I think it just ate the glue, so now I use bondaweb or heatnbond.
I had the same problem Carol I cut mine up to make ATC's but it didn't look any good as that either so I have just left them.
May be yours would make a good placemat or coffee mug mats.
could you melt holes in it and add stitch through the holes???

If you feel like it, you could let me borrow it to make collagraph prints at a workshop I'm attending soon - then I could return it with some prints from it, which youy might be able to use.... Just a thought.

This looks a little bit like a fresco, colours are very nice. Can't you use the other piece just without stitching?

Hi Carol. Been to busy to look at anyone's blog the last few days. That lace piece you made before is lovley. Is it large enough to make a vessel and glue it together with strong glue? Fit the bottom in to tin lid with a lip and glue that in as well. Just a thought, it is too nice to waste I'm sure.

This piece is lovely, i love the colours. What about collograph? Might this pick upo some of the textures? worth a try. LOve Carol
