Walnut Ink Fabric

The Front

The Back,
this is the truer colour.
Some of you may remember the fabric I stitched and then painted with Walnut Ink back in December, I was not going to do anything with it, but I kept looking at it, and as I had a couple of empty cardboard choccy tubes I decided to dunk the fabric in a mix of PVA and water, and wrap it around the tube, I wanted the ragged edge of the Scrim I used to crinkle up the join, It took ages to dry but I am really pleased with it.

This piece is tremendous. I'm curious as to how tall it stands.

And you have every right to be really pleased with it - it's brilliant. I love it. How tall does it stand? Did you cover the tube with anything first so that it didn't stick, or is there no need?

Yum ,yum, yum, yum, yum! That's all I need to say! Really impressed that you've taken your sample further and actually made something out of it - I never do that. I love walnut ink - not tried it on fabrics yet. Can we see some close ups?
