I have not done much the last couple of days, back to work Tuesday and never up to doing much Wednesday, so I had a lovely day with my friend Jenny, she came over to mine, and we talked, and drank coffee and she knitted her socks, and we talked and drank more coffee, and I picked up my simple weaving again, which I started on 15 Nov 06, after not looking at it for more than a month, I have to say, I still hate the sari yarn, it shreds and it makes me cough. so I have been using more torn chiffon's and tapestry wools,
Its very frustrating, I weave away, and think 'oh its growing nicely' then I have a session pushing it down the warp and it shrinks right up, I have reached 7 1/2" so far, think I will make it 10" so not far to go. It is 11 1/2 inches wide, will have to find some lining material soon, what is the betting, out of all the fabric in my room, nothing will match :)

It is coming along nicely Carol!
It's great Carol. How can I make time to try that as well? i think I will stop going to bed.
I think it looks great - love the colours. I LOVE sari yarn!!
You have been so busy since the new year, Carol... I feel exhausted just looking at the pictures! (not really - they are very inspiring).
I love it, Carol. How about spraying the sari yarn with a fine spray of water before using? It might help to cut down on the dust. I have tried that trick when knitting with it
The weaving looks great lovely colors, and a day spent with a friend PRICELESS..
You have been busy and doing a fine job I might add..
Love the weavingand the colours and I agreee re sari silk being dusty . I have knitted with it and found that if I washed it first it was better but so much colour and bits come off it. I have been reading your other posts and you make some gorgeous things,so inspiring.
Ahem.
I have some of the Sari yarn also.
I used it as "ribbon" to wrap around
gift packages.
I think that has been one of the best uses for this "yarn" because i
Really didn't like knitting with it at all. (and the results were ... unpleasant as a knit as well)
I've been knitting with the recycled sari yarn so I know exactly what you mean!
