Well, here is the piece painted with walnut ink, I love it, notice how the strip with the wool tops did not take the ink, but the thin strip of silk tops placed over and the cotton thread did, interesting possibilities here.
I couldn't waitfor a photograph, so have scanned, for once the colour has come out pretty true.
I am adding a scan of the back, which for me is nearly as nice as the front the texture in the cotton wadding (batting) is wonderful.

oooh very nice Carol! I really like it. It's got a really nice vintage look.
Carol this is fantastic. This piece has looked great at every single stage. What happens to it now? I just love that walnut ink effect - you know what will happen now for me - out with the treasure gold in with the walnut ink - just watch!!!
This piece looks wonderful too. Can't decide on a favorite. I just recently bought some walnut ink, in the spray bottle. I'm wanting to get playing now!
I know the pictures are very good of your work but boy o boy seeing them in real life they are more fantastic than words can say, I love them, the way the wool tops and silk have behaved after applying w.ink is a wow factor - a trully wonderful reversible fabric!!

Carol these are just wonderful. I haven't tried the paints you mention or the walnut ink. I must get some of each to play with.
I love them both.

I love both of these. I am not usually an earthtones kind of person, but the walnut ink looks wonderful. I love all the texture in these pieces.
What fun watching the progress of these pieces with you, Carol! Thank you for sharing.
Really special Carol. I love that.
