I'm still here

Well, I can't believe how long it is since I last blogged, I have been busy finishing off my articles for issue 2 of Fibre and Stitch, but also hit with a horrible head cold, so everything seemed to take twice as long
I have been eager to have a play after reading Jean Littlejohns article in Stitch and seeing Lynda's wonderful creations on her blog Purple Missus using the painted bondaweb and foils.
I had some white felt, the pure wool type not the acrylic, and so decided to use this, cut it in half and ironed on the painted bondaweb, I then then covered with foil, great so far, only one problem, I don't have an Embellisher, DUH!!!
which means of course the colour of the bondaweb will not get pushed through from the back, and was total waste of paint and bondaweb, all was not lost, I decided to scatter some lilac Angelina over the surface of the foil, I then covered this with black crystal organza, and ironed the surface this is the result, all I can say is ooooh because its gorgeous.

I wish I could capture the shimmer on this, the purples must be from the Angelina, unfortunately it doesn't show the lovely peacock green colour that is shot through the piece, I can't wait to stitch into this.

Its so hard to get a good photo of organza. The one in the middle shows up the best. Fabulous colours. I love the way it all crinkles up - very textural. Are you hand or machine stitching? Can't wait to see it at the next stage.

I agree with Lynda, the colours are beautiful! And I am really curious what it is gonna be.

Beautiful Carol - whatever you make out of it will be spectacular.

Love it, you know you can always use my embellisher - any time.

It looks fabulous as is. Wonder what you are going to do with it. You know you could use a hand held needlefelter to punch with. A little more elbow grease, but it works.

Very beautiful colours, Carla. The texture is rich and shining, lovely. Thanks for your comment on my blog. I come here regularly to look what you have been up to:) I'm impatient to see what you'll do with this piece...
