Needle Case

I haven't been up to much stitch wise this week, went to a couple of parties, that's my years allotment, almost :)
I also had a day out at our Guild, everyone takes their stitching along and we enjoy lots of chat and coffee,
Wednesday I decided my bulging needle case has had its day, it is stuffed with needles most of which I can not even thread any more. it also takes a lot of space up in my bag when out and about
I chose one of my favourite samples of white cotton velvet, layered with painted bondaweb and machine stitch, I was just going to straighten the edges and line it with felt, and put a selection of needles,

but got carried away and put a couple of pockets, attached my scissors and a strip for just a few needles, I spotted a sketch book that looked the right size, but it wouldn't fit with its big spiral wire and hard cover, I removed the covers and stitched the pages with some De Massey yarn, also used the yarn with some turquoise wool top zig zagged on top to tie it up,

This is great. Love the idea of extra pockets too :)

What a great project - I may have to "borrow" this one if you don't mind! This would be a good gift for my sewing buddies for Christmas this year and I could use the silk fusion that I have been making in class.

Don't mind at all Vicky, it would be a great way to use your Silk fusion, one pocket also holds my Neocolour water-soluble crayons, but they make it a bit heavy, I may make a fabric pouch for them to fit the pocket instead.

Carol - I wish I had your ability to take an old sample and turn it into something as good as this.
