A while ago, someone was asking on one of the lists if we had tried Friendly Plastic, I did not get on very well with it, I think I overheated with the heat gun, and lost all the lovely colours, in the end I just pressed some stamps into the warm plastic, and coloured the surface with metallics and Goldfinger.
The one on the right is Lace pressed into the warm surface, difficult to get off again, what looks like the raised areas, is actually the indentations in the surface
I have re-scanned and loaded a new picture that shows the colours better.

What a wonderful idea, Carol - I love the coppery patina (I think that's the word I'm looking for...)and texture. I've never got on very well with friendly plastic either but I think you have found a good way of using it.
Friendly plastic, you just can't have the wter to hot I find and it works ok, but I love the impressions you have put on them great idea, thanks for sharing this..
I didn't know you could do this with a heat gun...just thought hot water worked. They do look nice however.
